What To Expect

We are grateful for your interest in serving as a volunteer at Soquel Campmeeting. To help you prepare, here is an overview of what to expect throughout the volunteer process.

Phase 1: Apply for a Volunteer Role (must be at least 16 years of age to volunteer)

Begin by submitting an application with your information and the volunteer department you would like to serve in during Soquel Campmeeting. Deadline to apply for volunteering is June 15, 2026.

Phase 2: Acceptance and Next Steps

If your application is accepted, a director will reach out to you and help guide you through the next steps of the process. You will hear from us on the next steps and requirements.

Phase 3: Complete the Volunteer Requirements

Once you have been accepted as a volunteer, the following items must be completed before you are cleared to serve:

  • A. Review and Sign Volunteer Documents (if the volunteer is under 18, parents or guardians will need to sign on behalf of their child) Read through the Volunteer Guidelines and sign the Camp Meeting Acknowledgement of Volunteer Status. Completed documents should be emailed to volunteers@cccsda.org.

  • B. Complete the Volunteer Medical and Media Release Form (if the volunteer is under 18, parents or guardians will need to sign on behalf of their child). All accepted volunteers must complete the required medical and media release form.

  • C. Complete the Live Scan Process (if the volunteer is under 18, this is not required). Once Steps A and B have been completed, we will send you the documents needed to begin the Volunteer Live Scan process.

Please note:

  • You will be responsible for locating a Live Scan site in your area within California

  • Live Scan must be completed in person

  • Volunteers are responsible for paying the Live Scan fee at the time of service, which is typically $35–$50

D. Complete Mandated Reporter Training / Child Abuse Prevention Training (if the volunteer is under 18, this is not required)

All accepted volunteers are required to complete Volunteer Mandated Reporter Training.

Please note:

  • You must visit the training website and complete the training yourself

  • The certificate fee is approximately $8

  • Once completed, please email a copy of your certificate to volunteers@cccsda.org

  • Please also send a copy to the director you will be volunteering under

  • Mandated Reporter Training must be renewed every 2 years

E. Complete Illness and Injury Prevention Plan Training (only for 18+ volunteers)

Some of the accepted volunteers are required to complete this training--especially those in volunteer roles for parking, security, maintenance and using tools.

When Approved, Please Connect with your Department Head for In-Person Campmeeting Assigned Volunteer Role
