Yosemite, Calif. — In February 2025, women from across the Central California Conference gathered at Tenaya Lodge for a transformative weekend retreat that evolved into a powerful experience of healing, connection, and spiritual renewal.
Set against the quiet winter beauty of Yosemite, the retreat created a safe space for women to confront the realities of abuse, reclaim their God-given identity, and experience restoration through worship, teaching, prayer, and testimony. Attendees described the atmosphere as peaceful, warm, and filled with a profound sense of the Holy Spirit’s presence.
One of the most memorable moments of the weekend came when a 70-year-old woman shared publicly—for the first time in her life—her story of surviving sexual abuse. Surrounded by compassion and support, she expressed that the retreat was the first place where she felt free enough to break her silence. Her testimony, marked by courage and vulnerability, moved the room to tears and became a tangible reminder of God’s healing power at work.
Throughout the weekend, worship services, small-group conversations, and prayer gatherings offered opportunities for reflection and restoration. Women spoke openly about long-held wounds, found encouragement in one another’s stories, and experienced renewed hope through shared faith and community.
By the retreat’s conclusion, participants expressed leaving with a deep sense of freedom, strength, and assurance that God walks with His daughters through every chapter of their lives—including those marked by pain. Many described the experience not simply as a retreat but as a life-changing encounter with God.

Next year’s retreat, themed “Loved • NOT JUDGED,” aims to continue offering women a place of compassion, spiritual renewal, and transformative grace. Designed for those carrying shame, hurt, or weariness, the weekend will focus on reminding every woman that God meets them with unconditional love and leads them toward healing and wholeness.
