Central California Conference is pleased to announce that on January 25, 2026, the Executive Committee extended a call to Erik R. Borges to serve as Interim Vice President for Education, effective January 26, 2026. Mr. Borges has accepted this call and has begun his service in this role. This interim appointment is for a one-year term, during which the conference will continue to seek God’s guidance and move forward in prayer, trusting His leadership for the future of our educational ministry.
Mr. Borges brings nearly 30 years of faithful service in Adventist education, beginning his career as an elementary teacher and continuing through many years of leadership as a principal at both elementary and academy levels. His service has included schools and conferences such as the Central California Conference, Northern California Conference, and Upper Columbia Conference, giving him a broad perspective on Adventist education across diverse communities.
Throughout his ministry, Mr. Borges has been known for his steady leadership, heart for students, and commitment to strengthening schools as centers of learning, faith, and mission. Most recently, as Associate Superintendent of Education for the Central California Conference, he has worked closely with administrators, teachers, and school boards to support academic excellence, spiritual growth, and collaborative leadership across our educational system. We are grateful for Mr. Borges’ willingness to answer this call and to serve during this important season. As a conference family, we move forward in humility and prayer, placing our confidence in God’s wisdom and direction.
The Central California Conference warmly welcomes Erik Borges to this role and invites our churches, schools, educators, students, and staff to keep him and his family in prayer as he begins this interim service. We trust that the Lord, who has faithfully led in the past, will continue to guide each step ahead.
