FRESNO, CA — On Saturday, May 16, the Fresno Spanish Seventh-day Adventist Church became the vibrant epicenter of youth ministry as it hosted the latest stop of the FEJA Tour. The high-energy event drew more than 150 passionate participants, bringing together young people, leaders, and families from local Fresno congregations and surrounding Hispanic churches, with some traveling from as far as San Francisco and Santa María.
The day began with a warm, enthusiastic welcome from the host church, setting the stage for a powerful spiritual program. The FEJA leadership team led out in the day's activities, which reached a spiritual high point with an inspiring and timely message preached by Pastor Cesar Alfonzo, challenging the youth to anchor their lives in Christ.
Testing Knowledge and Teamwork
A major highlight of the afternoon was the Bible Bowl (Copa Bíblica), a rigorous academic challenge where young people put their scriptural knowledge to the test. Participants were examined on the Gospel of Mark, 1 and 2 Peter, and 1, 2, and 3 John. The competition highlighted not only the dedication of the youth to deeper Bible study but also their incredible team spirit.
Fellowship After Sunset
As the Sabbath hours came to a close, the energy shifted from the pews to the soccer field. After sunset, FEJA hosted a thrilling soccer tournament that kept spirits high and camaraderie flowing. Following several intense and exciting matches, the team from South San Francisco claimed the championship title.
Looking Ahead
The core purpose of the FEJA Tour is to bring the youth ministry directly to local congregations—fostering a program that motivates the next generation to secure their identity in Christ, strengthen their organizational unity, and, above all, exalt the name of Jesus.
The momentum doesn't stop here! FEJA is already preparing for its next major gathering at the Soquel Camp Meeting, where a dedicated youth space will be ready for young people to continue uniting in worship, fellowship, and praise.
Stay connected with FEJA for more updates, and we’ll see you at Soquel!
