Stories of Faith Illuminate CCC Women’s Retreat: From Trials to Triumph

Updated: Apr 30

FISH CAMP, Calif. — Surrounded by towering pines and crisp mountain air at Tenaya Lodge, more than 300 women gathered for the Central California Conference Women’s Retreat—three Spirit-filled days of worship, testimony, and sisterhood that left hearts renewed and paths refocused on Jesus.

An Atmosphere Thick with His Presence

“The whole weekend felt peaceful and Spirit-filled,” said Lisa, CCC Director of Women’s Ministries. “Whether you came with friends or by yourself, no one felt alone. It truly felt like a sisterhood—united by faith, strengthened by prayer, and renewed by God’s presence.” Laughter over shared meals, tears during testimonies, and hands raised in worship created a space both sacred and safe.

Messages That Reached the Heart

A signature highlight came as author and speaker Shelley Quinn urged attendees to pursue a deeper, more intimate walk with God. “Her words were filled with wisdom and humility,” Lisa recalled. “It felt as if the Holy Spirit was speaking directly to each of us.”Equally moving was Denise Kennedy’s first-ever public testimony. She traced her journey through intense trials and God’s sustaining grace—a story that, Lisa noted, “reignited boldness in my own faith.” Many left with renewed purpose, echoing Hebrews 12:1: “Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”

A Space for Connection and Healing

Workshops, small-group discussions, and an evening anointing service invited vulnerability and fostered lasting friendships. “Outside the usual daily pressures, we saw one another beyond our roles,” Lisa said. “Trust and empathy blossomed almost overnight.” Women prayed over shared struggles, celebrated victories, and discovered they were not alone on the journey.

Takeaways to Treasure

Each participant received a copy of Shelley Quinn’s book Spotless—a practical guide to living under grace. “I highly encourage anyone seeking a stronger walk with the Lord to read it,” Lisa added. “It’s a treasure for those who couldn’t attend this year.”

Why You Should Come Next Time

Asked if she would recommend the retreat, Lisa didn’t hesitate: “Absolutely. It’s a rare chance to step away from routine, listen for God’s voice, and build friendships that last long after the weekend ends. You leave inspired, supported, and reminded of why God is so good!”

Save the Date — 2026

Plans are already set for the next Women’s Retreat, February 20–22, 2026, again at Tenaya Lodge. For details—or to volunteer—contact the CCC Women’s Ministries team at cccwministry.english@gmail.com or call (209) 809-4793.

“Worshipping together, praying with sisters in Christ, and being surrounded by God’s creation made this retreat a time of true renewal,” Lisa reflected. “I left feeling empowered and focused on my spiritual journey, and I can’t wait to see what God does next.”
