It is with deep sorrow, yet with gratitude for a life faithfully devoted to God’s service, that the Central California Conference announces the passing of Pastor Roland Keith Mulligan on January 9, 2026.
Pastor Mulligan began his ministry in the early 1960s and dedicated more than five decades of his life to gospel service, faithfully serving the Seventh-day Adventist Church with humility and a shepherd’s heart.
Throughout his pastoral career, he served congregations in Southern California, Northern California, Nevada-Utah, and Central California, blessing churches through steady leadership, biblical preaching, and genuine pastoral care. In his later years, he faithfully pastored the Ceres Seventh-day Adventist Church, where he continued to nurture members, support local ministry, and strengthen the life of the church.
In addition to his work as a local church pastor, Pastor Mulligan was a strong and consistent supporter of prayer ministry. He believed deeply in the power of prayer and encouraged a spirit of intercession, devotion, and reliance on God throughout his ministry. His life reflected a quiet faithfulness that left a lasting spiritual legacy.
A memorial service honoring Pastor Mulligan’s life and ministry will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., at the Carmichael Seventh-day Adventist Church.
As we grieve Pastor Mulligan’s passing, we do so with the blessed hope of Christ’s soon return and the promise of the resurrection. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his wife, family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by his pastoral ministry.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” (Matthew 25:21)
With sympathy and gratitude,
Justin Kim
