Renowned vocalist Wintley Phipps to perform at Soquel Camp Meeting 2025

Internationally acclaimed gospel artist and pastor Wintley Phipps will present a special concert at the 2025 Soquel Camp Meeting at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 19, in the main auditorium. The performance is presented by Black Ministry and sponsored by Adventist Health.
Born in Trinidad, West Indies, and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Phipps is a celebrated vocalist, motivational speaker and education advocate. He holds degrees from Oakwood University and Andrews University, and has received multiple honorary doctorates recognizing his significant contributions to ministry and education.
Phipps is the founder and president of the U.S. Dream Academy, a national after-school initiative dedicated to breaking the cycle of intergenerational incarceration. Since its founding in 1998, the academy has provided vital support to nearly 12,000 children in underserved communities.
His global impact includes memorable performances at historic events such as the funerals for Gen. Colin Powell and Congressman John Lewis, as well as inaugural prayer services for President Barack Obama. Phipps has also performed for Presidents Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Joe Biden, and has shared stages worldwide, from the Vatican to the Kennedy Center.
A Grammy-nominated artist, Phipps has captured hearts globally with his stirring rendition of “Amazing Grace,” viewed by millions online. He has authored multiple inspirational books and currently serves as senior pastor of Palm Bay Seventh-day Adventist Church in Florida.
