Update on the Camp Wawona Lodge Renovation Campaign

CLOVIS, Calif. — The Camp Wawona Lodge Renovation campaign continues to move forward with momentum and gratitude, guided by prayer and the leadership of the Camp Wawona Operations Board.

As of Jan. 8, 2026, a total of $122,260 has been raised toward the $150,000 goal to renovate the main lodge at Camp Wawona. The total reflects the generosity of 26 donors, including two anonymous gifts of $50,000 each, which provided a strong foundation for the campaign.

With $27,740 remaining, the project is nearing full funding and entering its final stretch.

A Call to Walk Forward in Faith

Richard Dunn, chair of the Camp Wawona Operations Board, emphasized that the campaign is rooted in prayer, faith, and shared responsibility.

“Let’s continue moving forward in faith and prayer,” Dunn said. “Our faithful Father invites us to trust Him and step out in confidence. This project belongs to our conference family, and together we can help make it a reality.”

Dunn noted that the board’s vision includes broad participation across the conference, with hopes that every Operations Board member, executive officer, and Executive Committee member will take part, along with additional conference families as God leads.

Reaching the Final $27,740

The remaining need can be met through many combinations of faithful giving. Dunn outlined one possible approach the board is prayerfully considering:

  • 20 members giving $500 (or $125 per month for four months) — $10,000

  • 20 members giving $340 (or $85 per month for four months) — $6,800

  • 30 members giving $220 (or $55 per month for four months) — $6,600

  • Conference support — $4,340

“The amounts and combinations are flexible,” Dunn said. “What matters most is that each person responds as God leads.”

Updated Renovation Timeline

With planning underway, the Camp Wawona Operations Board has proposed the following renovation schedule:

  • March 1, 2026 — Plans and permit application submitted to Mariposa County

  • July 1, 2026 — Plans and permits approved

  • Sept. 1, 2026 — Volunteer demolition begins

  • Oct. 1, 2026 — Remodel construction begins with Maranatha and partner groups

  • Nov. 18, 2026 — Construction completed

  • Nov. 22, 2026 — Lodge re-dedication service

Dunn acknowledged that the timeline is ambitious but expressed confidence in God’s leading.

“You and I have been involved in many building projects, and we know schedules like this are optimistic,” he said. “At the same time, we also know that with God, all things are possible as we walk by faith and face our giants.”
