VISALIA, Calif. — The Visalia Pioneers Pathfinder Club celebrated a milestone on Oct. 1, honoring longtime leader Jerry Paifer for 62 years of service while welcoming a new generation of leadership during its induction ceremony.

The event recognized Paifer’s decades-long dedication to the Pathfinder ministry, where he has served as both club director and Area 6 coordinator. Over the years, he mentored numerous young leaders and guided multiple clubs throughout the region. Even after retiring as coordinator, Paifer continued to support the ministry by offering encouragement and counsel to directors and staff.

“Jerry’s commitment has shaped generations of Pathfinders and leaders,” said Norma Villarreal, Central California Conference junior youth director. “His service is a vivid example of what it means to lead faithfully and selflessly.”

During the ceremony, Villarreal also invested Zachary Foll as a Master Guide, presenting him with her personal Master Guide scarf in a symbolic gesture of mentorship and continuity.

“This moment represented the passing of leadership and faith from one generation to the next,” Villarreal said. “Investing in God’s servants today strengthens the church and the Pathfinder ministry for tomorrow.”

Attendees reflected on Paifer’s legacy and the importance of cultivating new leaders. For young leaders like Foll, the occasion served as a reminder that their role now includes guiding and inspiring others, just as they were mentored.

The celebration highlighted the enduring impact of mentorship and faithful service within the Pathfinder program. As one generation honors another, the ministry continues to grow through dedication, discipleship, and the shared mission of developing Christ-centered leaders.

“Well done, good and faithful servant… enter into the joy of your Lord.” — Matthew 25:23
