Over Labor Day weekend, August 29 – September 1, the Central California Conference Youth Federation hosted a young adult retreat at Camp Wawona in Yosemite National Park. Under the theme “Restored,” more than 180 young adults, ages 19–35, came together for a weekend filled with spiritual renewal, fellowship, and recreation.
Guest speaker Pastor Yepes challenged the attendees to experience a personal encounter with Jesus. Each day included devotionals, seminars, and sermons that inspired participants to grow in faith and commitment. On Sabbath, Pastor Edwin Mendoza, Hispanic Coordinator, joined the group for the “Sacred Trail” walk and a hike to the waterfall. The evening concluded with social games that strengthened friendships.
Sunday was filled with sports such as soccer and volleyball, opportunities to enjoy the river, and recreational time. The day ended with a memorable gala dinner where young people invited a fellow participant to share a special meal. The retreat concluded Monday morning with gratitude for the blessings received and anticipation for what God will do next year.
We look forward with enthusiasm to the 2026 retreat and hope even more young adults will join us for this life-changing experience.
