MONTEREY, Calif. — Twenty-seven participants gathered one Sunday afternoon at the church for a baking class led by Nadia Pantic, with assistance from Netty Obeso and Rosanna Patton.

The group learned to make specialty baked goods inspired by Pantic’s Russian and Serbian heritage, including strudels, cookies, and other traditional sweets and savory treats. Participants observed each step of the process as Pantic demonstrated how to measure ingredients and prepare the dough to the perfect texture.

With years of baking experience, Pantic guided attendees through each technique, sharing her knowledge about the feel, thickness, and consistency of quality dough. Children also joined in the fun, decorating cookies with colorful designs.

At the end of the class, everyone enjoyed tasting the freshly baked goods. Pantic gifted each participant a small bag of coconut cookies and a printed recipe to take home. Smiles, compliments, and expressions of “delicious!” filled the room as attendees expressed excitement about recreating the recipes in their own kitchens.

Pantic announced plans for another baking class in the future, and participants eagerly agreed they would be marking their calendars for the next session.
