WATERFORD, Calif. — Members of the Waterford Warriors Pathfinder Club led a special Pathfinder Sabbath worship service at the Waterford Seventh-day Adventist Church on Nov. 15, highlighting youth leadership, service and faith-based engagement.
Pathfinders participated throughout the worship service, including music, Scripture reading and prayer, and shared highlights from their activities and accomplishments during the year. Church leaders said the service reflected the club’s mission to encourage spiritual growth and active service among young people.
Central California Conference Junior Youth Director Norma Villarreal attended the service and said the program demonstrated the commitment of both the Pathfinders and the church congregation to youth ministry.
Also in attendance were Master Guide Luis Singh, director of the Central Valley Golden Eagles Pathfinder Club in Fresno, and his son, Tristan, whose presence reflected collaboration and support among Pathfinder clubs across the conference.

The sermon, titled “Always Ready to Serve,” focused on biblical examples of service and leadership, emphasizing Christ’s model of servant leadership. Organizers said the message encouraged young people to live with a readiness to serve others in practical ways.
In the afternoon, Pathfinder leaders and volunteers supported the Waterford club in a community outreach project that involved preparing Thanksgiving baskets for families in need. Participants included Wendell Paypa, Master Guide University director; Singh; and Villarreal. The outreach activity allowed Pathfinders to put their faith into action through hands-on service.
What a beautiful sight it was to see young people serving with joyful hearts and willing hands. Their eagerness to bless others reflected the words of Acts 20:35: “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
Conference leaders expressed appreciation for Master Guide Dijon Ferrell, director of the Waterford Warriors Pathfinder Club, citing his leadership and dedication to mentoring youth in faith, service and character development.
The Pathfinder Sabbath and outreach activities were described as an example of how youth ministry can strengthen both church and community connections through worship, service and collaboration.
The Central California Conference continues to support Pathfinder clubs as they provide opportunities for young people to grow spiritually and serve their communities.
