Central California Conference, October 2025 — This summer, 44 young people stepped onto the frontlines of ministry through the Central California Conference’s Youth Rush 2025 program. For ten weeks, these student literature evangelists canvassed neighborhoods across more than 45 cities—from Fresno and Merced in the Central Valley to Santa Maria and Salinas on the Coast—distributing thousands of books, offering prayer, and planting seeds of faith.
Among them was Dayami Gonzalez, a student from Armona Union Academy, whose experience in the seventh week of canvassing became a powerful reminder of God’s divine timing.
That day in Templeton began like any other. Dayami went door to door, sharing health and spiritual literature with residents. When she met a Hispanic man in his early fifties who worked in construction, the conversation seemed routine at first. He wasn’t particularly interested—but as they talked about wellness, his attention shifted to a devotional book in Dayami’s hand.
Curiously, it wasn’t a book she normally carried in plain sight. She had felt impressed that morning to take it out of her bag and hold it instead.
The man’s eyes filled with tears as he recognized it. Years earlier, someone had loaned him that same devotional, and it had deeply impacted his life. But he never finished reading it before having to return it—and had been searching for a copy ever since.
“I’ve even prayed that God would help me find it again,” he told her.
Now, here it was—brought to his doorstep.
Though he offered to pay any amount, Dayami insisted on giving it freely. In that moment, she realized she was standing in the middle of an answered prayer, part of a story only God could have orchestrated.
Later, she reflected on the sequence of events—her choice to carry that specific book, his delay getting home due to traffic, their meeting at just the right moment. None of it, she knew, was coincidence.
“It was a divine appointment,” she said. “God planned every detail.”
The experience left a deep impression on Dayami. It strengthened her faith and reminded her that no conversation, no door, and no day of canvassing is ever ordinary. God is always at work behind the scenes.
At the end of the Youth Rush summer, Dayami made a life-changing decision of her own—she chose to be re-baptized, recommitting her life to God. What began as a summer of ministry became a personal spiritual renewal.
And Dayami’s story is just one among many.
This summer, the Youth Rush 2025 team:
Distributed over 20,000 books—more than 80% containing a spiritual message
Shared thousands of GLOW tracts and Voice of Prophecy and Amazing Facts enrollment cards
Raised $310,062 in donations to support students’ tuition
Connected numerous individuals with local churches for Bible studies
And most importantly, offered thousands of prayers—each one a point of connection where God could work
As for Dayami, she continues to pray for the man she met that day in Templeton. She believes God is still writing his story—and hers.
